East Midland Trains in 2008
East Midland Trains class153383 in one of the bays in Lincoln station on 21/6/2008 still in Central Trains green with just East Midlands on its sides. The weather was rather damp and dull.
East Midland Trains class 153310 also on the 21/6/2008 in platform 3 taken on the same day.
East Midland Trains class 153384 also on the 21/6/2008 in green also with just East Midlands on the side.
Class 156s in Lincoln station 21st June 2008
East Midland Trains 156404 in one of the bays in Lincoln station on 21/6/2008
East Midland Trains 156414 also on the 21/6/2008 with A4 Bittern behind it.
Both of these East Midlands class 156 at Lincoln railway station in June 2008 on this page were painted in the East Midland Trains Colours.
Class 60 007 at Lincoln station
DB class 60 007 still with EWS on it, on the though lines in Lincoln station with a train of tankers in 2008.
This class 60 is now (from 2012 to ?) painted in DB Schenker red with the "switch on to safety" decals.
As well as the tanker train this photo also gives a good view of signal HS 2. This signal was removed when the layout at Lincoln was changed.
There used to be two stations in Lincoln, The Great Northern's Lincoln Central and the Midland railways Lincoln St Marks. Unlike some towns and villages, these stations were right in the middle of the town. Both stations were lest than a mile apart, and both stations had level crossings near to the end of the platforms on the main High street.
Today Lincoln Central is the only station at Lincoln. This still has a level crossing on the main High street. Which the tanker train is still going over, stopping all the traffic once again.
